Upon joining a young startup, every day brings something new. For one of our early developers, Oleksii, becoming part of a small team meant more than simply writing code; it meant growing alongside the company itself.
With only a couple of developers and ambitious ideas waiting to be brought to life, the first priority was clear: understand the projects from the ground up and become part of the team behind them.
"Working in a small startup team is a great experience. You learn something new every day and quickly expand your knowledge. My first priority was understanding how the project worked and getting familiar with the development process."
That mindset of constantly learning has remained a driving force for Oleksii ever since.
The First Steps: Shinobi Spirit
Every developer remembers their first project, and for him, that game was Shinobi Spirit.
Like anyone joining a new studio, there was plenty to learn, but what made the experience memorable wasn't just the technical side. It was the people.
"The team was incredibly supportive throughout the process. Even though I was new, I was encouraged to take part in discussions and decisions, which made me feel like a valued part of the team from the very start."
That collaborative approach has become a defining part of Print Studios' culture, where every voice is heard regardless of experience or tenure.
Planning Before Building
As the studio has grown, so too has the development process. Every new game begins long before the first line of code is written.
Rather than rushing into development, the team spends time refining ideas, discussing potential challenges, and making sure every part of the project has been carefully considered.
"What I really like about Print is that we spend time discussing each project before development begins. We make sure the ideas are clear, potential challenges are considered, and as many gaps as possible are covered before we start building."
It's an approach that helps transform ambitious concepts into polished games while giving our developers a clear roadmap before production begins.
Learning Through Every Challenge
No two Print Studios games are ever quite the same, and that means every new release brings fresh technical challenges.
From working with older technologies in the studio's early years to gradually transitioning towards newer solutions, adapting has become an essential part of the job.
"Every Print Studios project is different and brings new challenges. If I don't know how to solve something today, I'll find a way to solve it tomorrow."
That willingness to learn has not only helped Oleksii grow as a developer but has also supported the team's continued evolution.
"We've been moving towards newer technologies, and it's been great to be part of that transition. It's not just my achievement, it's something the whole Print team continues to work on every day."
Looking Ahead
Although Oleksii can't reveal too much about what's coming next, there's already another exciting project in development.
This time, it's part of one of Print Studios' established game series, bringing with it familiar foundations while introducing something new for players to discover.
"I'm currently working on a new project that will become part of one of Print Studios' game series. I can't share too many details yet, but I can say it's going to be a really fun project."
From learning the ropes on Shinobi Spirit to helping build the next generation of Print Studios titles, Oleksii's journey reflects the studio's own growth: always learning, always evolving, and always looking for better ways to build unforgettable games.
With every new project comes another opportunity to solve new challenges, improve as a developer, and continue pushing Print Studios forward.
