Q. How has 2025 gone for Print Studios so far?
Good thanks! Been a pretty wide array of styles of games thus far into the year. Our team additions have been fitting in real well, setting us up for bigger and better things ahead. The games have been doing well too, with Uncle Profit being the latest.
Q. With Holy Hand Grenade being so popular, what was the inspiration behind Holy Hand Grenade 2: Dream Drop? Artistically, was it to keep things the same with slight modifications?
Given it was the sequel to such an iconic original, there were barrels of inspiration for all gameplay aspects. Artistically, the continuation of the story was fundamental. We posted some historical records of the story on our LinkedIn recently, but the visuals in-game deliver the best rendition. And yeah, in general, the idea was to upgrade; nothing removed, key bits improved.
Q. Using the same bonus features, there are new Holy Hand Grenade types in the free spins: how does this change things from the original?
The new grenades give fans of Holy Hand Grenade a clearer path to what you really want from the original. The green grenade eliminates all low-payers from the explosion (the most common prayer in the YouTube congregation), the purple improves SuperSpinners (their absence tends to summon curses), and the blue grenade allows pay both ways, granting divine purpose to explosions in the godforsaken right-reel regions.
Q. Why is Holy Hand Grenade 2 a Dream Drop jackpot slot? Is there a reason for this?
Our partner, Relax Gaming, have been pushing hard for their improved Dream Drop jackpots offering, and we felt that if there was anything weak about the original Holy Hand Grenade, it would be the base game. Thus, a Dream Drop base game feature seemed like it would fit well. The feature itself is also a good opportunity to add a bit more story elements outside of the obvious balance-boosting nature of the prizes.
Q. I see the non-jackpot version will be released in November: aside from the jackpots, are there any differences?
Yes and no. We have exchanged the jackpot feature with a similar feature that can also yield huge wins, so similar in gameplay but slightly different in math. The RTP rate will be 96.01% with the same 30,000 x bet max win. Which version is better depends entirely on your jackpot appetite; there are benefits on both sides.
Q. Also, this is Print’s 2nd Dream Drop slot: are there any plans for more DD releases?
Nothing at the moment, it depends on whether we have any concepts that would benefit gameplay-wise from DD, and whether we have ideas for fun ways of presenting it. Reception of this Dream Drop release will play a role as well, of course.
Q. How was the Uncle Profit slot received?
Quite well! The summer period meant the launch didn’t break too many records, but Uncle Profit has had a good tail with several thousand players checking in every day. I think the team did a great job with the unique theme and delivered the story well. Always room for improvement and lessons learned that we take with us.
Q. Finally, what can we expect from Print Studios in 2025? Which games do you have in the pipeline?
I don’t want to spoil too much here, but I can tell you that we’ll break away from the tradition of doing a Darkness-style Halloween game and a Plinko over Christmas. This is not because those projects haven’t been successful at all, but simply because we had too many other ideas we wanted to try.
